Who Is the End-time Servant?

This paper builds on a previous discussion on the Zion Media podcast on You Tube (https://youtu.be/YUi47tPy6Jc), which showed that the end-time servant is not Jesus Christ, nor Joseph Smith. I won’t repeat that discussion, but I would like to present what I believe to be overwhelming evidence for why this servant is a particular individual. Even if you don’t agree with my choice, I bet you can’t find anybody who fits the role better.

I have been working and praying about this for years. I knew I had it, and the Lord confirmed it, but there were some contradictions that I couldn’t resolve. But thanks to LDC (“Latter-day Chad” on the above podcast), he pointed out some things that I should have noticed, but didn’t. The contradictions are now resolved.

We can never study the fundamentals of the Gospel too much: faith, repentance, baptisms of water, fire, and the Holy Ghost. You should study 2 Nephi 31 and 32 and 3 Nephi 11, constantly and put what you learn into practice. You should live and grow by faith and repentance every day – not repenting of the same things every day, but constantly growing and improving. Like the hymn says, your “knowledge and power of God [should be] expanding”. You should seek earnestly for the baptism of fire and the Holy Ghost and your second comforter. I have received both, and I can testify that they are real; the Lord truly wants a two-way relationship with each of us. The First Epistle of the Apostle John teaches that the early Apostles each had fellowship with the Lord and encourages all to do likewise, and enjoy that same fellowship.

We are also encouraged by the scriptures to search them, and to seek to know the mysteries. A mystery is not something you can never know or are not supposed to know. Many mysteries are right there in plain sight in the scriptures. Jesus told us to keep on asking, keep on seeking, keep on knocking. We can trust Him. He will never upbraid us, let us be deceived, refuse to answer, or give us a principle or commandment that we are not prepared to live. In this paper, I will explore one of those mysteries. To unveil it, I will rely on the words of the Lord, given through the prophets, both ancient and modern.

Free Scripture-Searching Software

I have released two pieces of software that I have written to search the scripture on your own computer, not somebody else’s website.

The database indexes the following scriptures:

BibleStandard King James translation
Book of Mormon1990’s edition – no preface, introduction, witnesses, chapter headings, or footnotes
Doctrine & Covenants1990’s edition – no preface, introduction, witnesses, chapter headings, or footnotes, or official declarations
Pearl of Great Price1990’s edition – no preface, introduction, witnesses, chapter headings, or footnotes
Lectures on FaithStandard edition available online, includes preface
Book of Commandments1833 edition
Webster’s American Dictionary of the English Language1828 edition Available online.
Digital copy provided by Simply Scriptures.

The database provides extensive full text searching capabilities using key-word search, search on exact phrase, and the ability to group and combine your queries using parentheses for grouping, and the key-words and, or, not.

You can look up the verse or selected Biblical words in Strong’s online concordance, view alternative translations of the verse, link to a complete list of cross-references for the verse, compare the King James verse to the Joseph Smith Translation. And for all the Standard Works, link to the church’s scripture library. My goal was to give you a complete and intimate study experience all in one place.

These programs both run in Windows 10 and 11 on your local desktop or laptop. There are all self-contained on your computer, except for external links to Strongs, Biblehub, the cross-reference, or lds.org. Sorry, but these programs do not run on smart phones or Apple or Linux.

Also included are the text from the books Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith and The Words of Joseph Smith. And other significant writings and speeches by early church leaders. These are indexed, as well. If you vaguely remember a line from a Joseph Smith speech, you can look it up here.

There is also a searchable edition of Webster’s 1828 dictionary, an excellent source to obtain definitions of word in the Bible and Book of Mormon.

You also have the ability to add your own comments to each verse. These comments are searchable.

There are also detailed Help pages with detailed examples and instructions.

I do a lot of writing and commenting on social media. I use both these programs to lookup verses and to help me with my studies. I have been using them and testing them for several years. Now, I am finally happy with the feature set they offer and the quality and reliability of the software is up to par. FYI, I have been a software developer and tester for over 50 years. I worked for EDS, Microsoft, AT&T, and a number of other small start-up companies.

Here are the links to download these two programs and a brief listing of their differences.

Both these programs are free to use. If you are interested in porting or enhancing these programs, I will be happy to give you the source code, on the one condition that they always remain free.

ServerSetup.exe: https://drive.proton.me/urls/TN5QCYCWF0#yshojbXpjpuS

Includes a web server that can run on a Windows desktop or laptop, and a set of client web pages. I anticipate that somebody could take the simple local web server and use it as a remote server and run the web pages on any computer.

This version includes the ability to create your own topical guide, where you can save your own searches for talks or research projects.

 MySetup.exe: https://drive.proton.me/urls/ZEK4J5AHBR#qvi9XAK13cno

Complete stand-alone version for Windows desktop or laptop. Included are all the databases and features listed above, plus the ability to use alternative translations to the King James version.
